Letters to Santa

Reese once again penned her wishes to Santa in  a letter that we mailed to the North Pole (via Macys).

It was fun to see how her stamina for writing and her ability to sound out words has improved so much from last year. She had her heart absolutely set on jewelry this year. "Big girl jewelry, not dress up jewelry," was how she described it. This was a tough call, but Santa found something that fit the bill--big girl enough, but inexpensive enough that when (not if) it breaks or gets lost Mommy won't be mourning more than Reese.

I tried to encourage Paige to write a letter to Santa also. Paige's gross motor skills are still her strong suit and she continues to wield a fisted-death-grip on every writing utensil she encounters. My offer to write a letter for her was greeted with indifference so we'll try again next year. When I asked Paige what she wanted Santa to bring her she replied, "Ummm....presents?" Yes, Santa will bring you presents, but is there anything you want him to bring for you? "Umm....presents. With bows?" I love that I have at least one child that is (sometimes) easy to please.
